Dozenten: Prof. Jim McCullough, Prof. Elisabeth Schramm
Ziele:
- Vertiefung des persönlichen Einbringens (DPI) als therapeutische Haltung und Technik bei schwierigen Konstellationen und „Pre-CBASP“ Fällen
Inhalte:
Some early onset, chronically depressed patients are not able to start regular CBASP therapy by attending to the therapist because of several problem behaviors such as severe fear-avoidance patterns. Difficult constellations are
A. Patient cannot focus on one thing at a time
B. Therapist does not have “verbal control” of the patient (patient talks over the therapist)
C. Patient behaves in ways that prevent learning CBASP such as hostile opposition to everything therapist does (argues, changes subject, denigrates the CBASP method, weeps uncontrollably, repeats his/her helplessness, etc.)
So, before the therapist jumps into SA or the IDE (that is, doing CBASP therapy), we want to make sure the patient can listen to what the therapist says and focus on one thing at a time. If they can't, then no learning occurs no matter how good we are at administering SA and the IDE. It takes different strategies to help teach the patient to get in a learning mode.
We will demonstrate and practice possible solutions to those difficulties in therapy.
